Planning Officer
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Planning Officer to contribute to Council’s success.

About the Role
The purpose of this position is to support Council's direction by undertaking the assessment of development applications in accordance with statutory requirements to deliver strategic planning outcomes which reflect the interests of Council and expectations of the community.
You will bring:
Degree in Urban and/or Regional Planning (or a related discipline) and high-level knowledge and skills together with planning experience including development assessment.
Knowledge of the Planning Act 2016 and associated planning legislation and concepts and State and regional policy documents as they relate to development assessment.
Demonstrable problem solving and negotiation skills to engage with a broad customer base.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Sound communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
