The opportunity
IFYS has an exciting opportunity for an Administration Assistant to join ‘The Old Church Youth Accommodation' and ‘Transitional Housing’ program. The program provides young people aged 16 to 25 with safe accommodation, as well as services that enable positive education and employment outcomes, to help them build careers and transition into their own accommodation.
The Administration Assistant will undertake the day-to-day administration tasks and support property management activities for the Old Church Youth Accommodation program and the Transitional Housing program.

Key responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors and enquiries via phone and email
- Assist the Coordinators with tenancy paperwork and maintaining client rent records
- Complete timely and accurate administrative tasks as required, including (but not limited to): data collection and entry, records maintenance and filing
- Manage the maintenance register and liaise with the Property team
- Assist with daily cleaning duties at the accommodation site
- Handle purchasing, stock control, and supplier coordination
- Support room bookings and coordination of external services
- Assist with onboarding new staff and volunteers
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Key requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in administration support or similar
- Intermediate skill level with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
- Experience engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to work with initiative and autonomy
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful:
- Valid Queensland Driver's License with no restrictions, and own reliable transport
- QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
- Licensed Care Service Suitability Check (LCS2)
- National Criminal History Check (a new check will be conducted through IFYS systems)
Other requirements:
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to participate in aptitude and skill assessments.
