Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Marketing Administration Assistant to support our small, dynamic team across a wide range of activities - from marketing coordination and industry engagement to cruise ship arrivals and office administration.
Working closely with the Executive Officer (EO) and Marketing & Partnership Executive (MPE), this is a varied and rewarding role for someone who is highly organised, people-focused, and passionate about showcasing the Port Douglas Daintree region.
About TPDD
Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD) is the Local Tourism Organisation (LTO) for the Douglas Shire, responsible for promoting one of Australia’s most iconic destinations-where the Great Barrier Reef meets the Daintree Rainforest. We are a membership based organisation representing more than 115 local tourism operators and work collaboratively with Tourism Tropical North Queensland and other key partners to grow visitation and support a thriving tourism industry. TPDD is a not-for-profit, membership-based organisation governed by a skills-based board.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Industry Support
Assist with the production and distribution of member communications, including the fortnightly industry e-newsletter.
Support the coordination of industry events, trade famils, media visits, and photoshoots.
Assist in itinerary planning and logistics for visiting trade and media.
Help update and distribute marketing collateral and digital assets.
Support the delivery of marketing campaigns and digital marketing efforts.
Respond to member enquiries and provide assistance as required.
Cruise Ship & Volunteer Coordination
Help plan and deliver cruise ship welcome activities at the Port Douglas Marina.
Liaise with local operators to ensure offers and promotional materials are prepared.
Coordinate rosters and communications with TPDD’s volunteer team, ensuring smooth delivery of visitor welcome experiences.
Finance & Reporting
Assist with financial administration including invoice coding, expense tracking, and collation of receipts.
Support monthly reporting through data collection and template management.
General Administration
Greet visitors to the TPDD office and provide general tourism information.
Answer phone and email enquiries.
Assist with membership enquiries and support the planning of member events such as the AGM, industry briefings, and networking nights.
Maintain office supplies and filing systems.

Friendly, approachable, and confident dealing with industry partners, volunteers, and visitors.
Able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiastic about tourism, community engagement, and regional development.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience in tourism, marketing, events, or administration.
Familiarity with tools like Mailchimp, Canva, Meta Business Suite, or Craft CMS (training provided).
Knowledge of the Port Douglas and Daintree region and its tourism industry.
