Position Objective

This position is responsible for providing administrative support and positive customer engagement interactions with clients, carers, employees, volunteers and allied health services in the provision of council’s Community Care service.

Key responsibility areas

Provide positive customer engagement and solution-based interactions with clients, carers, contractors, suppliers, volunteers and allied health professionals in relation to all Community Care services.

Provide administration support including payroll, invoicing, filing, internal and external communication information management and responding to and actioning telephone calls.

Complete and manage care worker rosters for home, personal and respite care.

Maintain confidential client records and filing systems.

Support actioning of referrals, admissions and discharges of clients with Assessment Officers and other stakeholders.

Compile, prepare and maintain volunteer delivery rosters and supply to Council’s contractors.

Liaise with Assessment Officers and meals suppliers to update service changes and variations and update electronic records.

Administer all aspects of the Meals on Wheels service, including maintaining records, checking and compiling data

Administer the Meals on Wheels volunteer service, including recruitment, registration, induction, recognition and police checks.

Administer time and attendance records for direct care workers.

Perform, as directed, other duties that are within the limits of the incumbents’ skill, competence and training.

Qualifications and experience

Skills and knowledge needed for entry to this Band are beyond those normally acquired through secondary education alone.

Skills and knowledge may be acquired through completion of a post-trade certificate or other post-secondary qualification below diploma or degree or knowledge and skills gained through on-the-job training commensurate with the requirements of the position.

Selection criteria

Ability to prioritise tasks in responsive service-based environment and capacity to complete tasks in specified timeframes.

Sound administration experience, including the ability to pick up new systems and technology quickly

Excellent communication skills including responsive listening skills and understanding of effective customer relations

Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Ability to maintain confidentiality
