The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking 9 x Client Services Support Officer's to provide a critical role at Western Plains Correctional Centre.
About the Business Unit
Western Plains Correctional Centre is a modern, maximum-security prison focussed on rehabilitation, housing up to 1248 people in custody. Western Plains features multi-purpose infrastructure which is adaptable to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria and the people in our care. Modern amenities include medical wards, a cultural centre, and vocational training facilities.
This role is part of the Workforce and Prison Services (WPS) team, a team dedicated to delivering essential corporate and ancillary services support to prison operational teams and prisoners. Leveraging the technical ability and professional expertise of trained subject matter experts, the team supports the smooth functioning of prison operations while prioritising prisoner rehabilitation and safety.
About the Role
The Client Services Support Officer applies their customer service and technical expertise to ensure the compliant, efficient, and client focussed delivery of prison services across their designated portfolio within multiple functional areas of the centre. Service areas include, mail, prisoner property, prisoner finance, gatehouse customer service, operational logistics, prisoner records and prison internal transport.
Client Services Support Officers will rotate through different service areas over a set period. This approach allows Officers to enhance their career development and broaden their understanding of all team deliverables, enabling them to better support Team Leaders and Supervisors while also providing opportunities for higher responsibilities.
Some of your duties will include:
- Prepare stock estimates, obtain quotes, and organise purchases to maintain stock levels for the prison stores and prisoner canteen, undertake regular stock-takes, maintain accurate records and maintain the shop in good order.
- Maintain prison archives; liaise with relevant staff and stakeholders to facilitate compliant document management systems.
- Coordinate and undertake regular deliveries of nominated items and persons across the prison via the internal transport system.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
- Well-developed computer literacy and/or knowledge of CV operating systems including
- E Justice, PIMS, Oracle.
- Demonstrated understanding of stores and warehousing operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of occupational health and safety practices.
