About the Role
An opportunity exists to join our team providing sustainability, energy efficiency, and carbon measurement engineering services, and supporting the development of innovative digital tools for carbon accounting.
We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our team, delivering technical sustainability solutions. This role will focus on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions measurement, life cycle assessment (LCA) for a broad range of clients, and the development of technical models for sustainability reporting.
Mission Purpose
Provide technically rigorous environmental engineering solutions to help clients measure, report and reduce their environmental impacts.
Contribute to CRI’s continuous innovation in delivering sustainability insights and digital solutions for carbon accounting and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
You will be operating in our Sustainability Engineering team and report to its team lead.
Conduct GHG assessments and product LCAs for a diverse portfolio of clients under our NoCO2 certification program.
Support clients throughout their climate action journey—from data collection to results presentation and reporting—and assist in interpreting carbon data and designing tailored sustainability strategies.
Apply environmental engineering principles to prepare detailed technical reports aligned with local and global sustainability frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, TCFD, NABERS).
Conduct research on emerging standards, methodologies, and regulations related to carbon accounting
Develop engineering models to quantify Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Contribute to internal R&D on improving LCA and carbon accounting tools with engineering-based rigor.
Support the development of tools and methods for financed emissions measurement in line with frameworks such as the GHG Protocol and PCAF.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate technical sustainability knowledge into SaaS digital solutions.
Contribute to continuous development of internal processes, customer pathways, and quality systems.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
2 years of professional experience in environmental engineering, sustainability consulting, GHG accounting, or LCA.
Knowledge of key sustainability and reporting standards (such as GHG Protocol, TCFD, SBTi, NABERS), as well as innovative technologies and sustainable strategies.
Experience developing engineering models for GHG and emissions quantification. Experience with financed emissions measurement and reporting is a plus.
Previous professional experience working with carbon accounting software is highly valued.
Proficiency in technical tools such as Python, OpenLCA, eTool, and Excel.
Excellent technical writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively on technical processes and environmental solutions.
