About the Role
The Process Engineer is responsible for the optimisation of all Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, to ensure a consistent, efficient, and high-quality treated water is provided to all Shoalhaven Water customers including the minimising of chemical usage and the potential for automation and standardization of treatment plant processes. Reporting directly to the Unit Manager Digital Control Systems, the primary focus of this role includes:
- Provide support to the Water/Wastewater Unit Managers and Coordinators responsible for the day to day operation of the Water/Wastewater Plants.
- Develop and maintain individual Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
- Develop a Plant performance monitoring system for all Water/Wastewater treatment Plants.
- Ensuring Best Practice policies and procedures are in place for the Water Operations Unit's compliance with all relevant legislation and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.
This is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed as either Grade 11 or 12.
Grade 11 - $99,774 - $113,318 p.a. plus 12% Super plus 3.5% Civil Liabilities Allowance
Grade 12 - $105,927 - $120,707 p.a. plus 12% Super plus 3.5% Civil Liabilities Allowance
About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
Grade 11 (B3/L2)
Grade 12 (B3/L2)
- Completion of a Bachelor of Engineering (Process or Environmental)
- Eligibility for Graduate Membership to the Institute of Engineers, Australia.
- Graduate Bachelor of Engineering (Process or Environmental)
- Eligibility for Membership of the Institute of Engineers, Australia
- Minimum of 2 years full-time experience working in relevant field
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision and management of employees and contractors.
- Class C Driver's Licence.
- Current National WHS Construction Card (SafeWork NSW).
