An exciting opportunity exists to join our Construction Team as Works Quality officer.
Primary Purpose
To provide support to and work with Project Managers, Safety and Systems Manager and Team Leaders to implement and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) and other quality systems throughout the organisation. Additionally, support the works delivery teams through assisting the Project Managers and Team Leaders by engaging contractors, procuring materials, ongoing engagement and consultation with stakeholders and reviewing relevant project management documentation.
Key requirements of the role:
· Work with Managers to interpret and establish quality assurance requirements for projects and assist in the implementation of standards and requirements within the scope of work, identifying opportunities for system improvement to the Safety and Systems Manager/Works Manager.
· Assist project managers to deliver and manage project schedules and detailed timelines for major capital projects to meet grant or tender conditions, community and/or customer needs and organisational priorities.
· Lead auditing of worksites, as per schedule and maintain records on projects. This can include raising of Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs) to be submitted to the Project Manager.
· Providing guidance, advice and assistance to in regard to IMS to all staff involved in the management and implementation of projects to facilitate consistency in the delivery of projects.
· Support in the preparation of Project Management Plans (PMPs), project cost estimates, quotes, plans and associated documentation.
· Support in the planning and organisation of resources including but not limited to ordering goods, services and materials, arranging site meetings, audits, inspections and inductions and mobilising employees, plant and equipment.
· Relief scheduled & reactive asset inspections including roads, footpath, stormwater, structures and other Council assets to identify and capture defects for risk management and programming repairs within
· Collect and record accurate data during asset inspections using GPS data collection devices to allow civil works program and risk management of identified defects.
· Assist with the preparation of detailed cost estimates, quotes and tenders for internal and external works
Have you also the following:
Certificate IV in Civil Construction, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through experience
Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
Experience in providing civil works technical, including systems management, procurement, contractor management and establishment of project management plans and associated documents.
Demonstrated ability to understand and work within and Integrated Management System (IMS) for Safety, Quality and Environmental management.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage contractors
Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and support staff to achieve work targets and performance objectives.
Class C drivers’ licence.
Have experience in Project Management.
