The Junior Quality officer shall work as part of the quality team. This full-time role will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety across the manufacturing operations

Main Duties & Responsibilities

· Conducting regular quality checks and inspection of raw materials, production processes and finished products.

· Conducting GMP audits and daily QA walks to ensure all the ingredients and products are correctly stored and batched.

· Liaising with the warehousing team ensuring that goods inwards are batched and stored correctly.

· Label verification for production teams ensuring correct batch date and use by/ best before date is correct.

· Check the packing slips against the production records for traceability.

· Checking the work of the cleaning team as per their cleaning schedule and assigning any additional cleaning jobs noted from the daily GMP audit.

· Monitoring production yields, ensuring numbers are accurately recorded by the production team and entering yields to the database

· Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality control procedures.

· Working closely with the Quality assurance manager to improve on process and procedures

· Oversee daily verification of CCPs and assist in managing customer complaints

What we are looking for:

· 1-2 years of experience working in a quality assurance role, ideally in food manufacturing

· Qualifications: A degree in Food Science or related field along with familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and QMS systems.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.

· Organised and ability to meet production deadlines

· Good Problem-solving abilities, and problem identification.

· Understanding of FSANZ standards

Key Performance indicators

· A reduction in production errors in real time, (incorrect batches, storage, weights)

· A visible reduction in Non-conformances raised by the QA team in relation to mis labelling, incorrect storage, and paperwork errors

· Completion of all paperwork on time without error
