The role:

We're looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to step into a key BAU role within a high-performing team of four. You'll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing while ensuring compliance in a complex, high-volume environment. This is a temporary contract to start, with strong potential for extension or permanency. The role offers a hybrid working model, with a balanced mix of in-office and work-from-home flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Payroll Manager with the day-to-day running of payroll operations
• Process end-to-end payroll for a multi-site workforce
• Act as the escalation point for payroll queries and provide mentorship to junior team members
• Ensure payroll compliance, reporting, and auditing requirements are met
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and internal teams to ensure accurate data flow and reporting

About You:

• 5+ years of payroll experience, ideally within large or complex organisations
• Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and legislation
• Confident using major payroll systems (Dayforce experience a bonus, but not essential)
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
• A proactive team player who can step up and lead when needed
