About the Role:
We are currently recruiting 4 experienced and committed Disability Support Workers to support a 17-year-old male participant living in Waterways. The participant has Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 3, is non-verbal, and presents with behaviours of concern supported by a Behaviour Support Plan (BSP). This is a 2:1 staff-to-client ratio role, with 24/7 care coverage required.

Key Details:

• Initial shifts will begin as 2-hour sessions, with the support worker shadowing experienced staff.
• Shifts will gradually increase to 8 hours per day, with a potential of 32 hours per week for the right candidates.
• Full training will be provided by a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
• The participant requires 5+ months to build trust, so long-term commitment is essential.
• The role is classified as high intensity, and a higher rate of pay is being negotiated.
• The participant has 48 hours/day, 7 days/week, ensuring long-term work stability.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1–2 years experience supporting individuals with complex needs, particularly ASD and behaviours of concern.
• Experience working in 2:1 ratio or high intensity environments.
• Willingness to commit long-term and engage in a gradual onboarding process.
• Flexible and reliable availability for morning, afternoon, and potentially overnight shifts.
• Preferred: Male candidates, however females with suitable experience are welcome to apply.
• Relevant qualifications and compliance (NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling, etc.
