The Plant Operator (Grader) role at Moree Plains Shire Council, is a permanent full-time position.

As a Plant Operator (Grader), your main responsibilities will include:

- Operating and maintaining heavy machinery, specifically graders, to carry out civil construction and maintenance activities.

- Safely and efficiently operating the grader to ensure precise levelling and finishing of surfaces such as roads, car parks, and drainage systems.

- Conducting routine pre-start checks and maintenance on the grader to ensure its optimal performance.

- Assisting with other infrastructure tasks as required by the council.

The ideal candidate would have:

• Demonstrated effective communication skills with the ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to organise and carry out the day to day activities of a work site with minimal supervision and work within a team whilst meeting productivity targets.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under conflicting time pressures.
• Excellent people skills with a focus on strong customer relations.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to keep accurate records including, timesheets, daily running sheets & fuel usage records

Ticket, Licences and Certificates:

• General Construction Induction Card
• Current Class C Drivers Licence
• Relevant experience in the operational procedures of a grader in a maintenance environment including the ability to safely operate the plant under all conditions.

Immunisations required:

• Ability to provide evidence of vaccination/immunisation for Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B and maintain currency of this throughout your period of employment.
