THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Payroll in a small team of six, this newly created contract position offers an exciting opportunity to step into a hands-on leadership role within a growing and evolving payroll function. The wider team is spread across Australia and New Zealand.
As Payroll Team Leader, you will be instrumental in supporting the Head of Payroll in delivering accurate and efficient payroll services across a diverse and complex workforce. This includes:

• End-to-end processing of payroll across multiple entities
• Guiding and mentoring junior team members
• Handling complex payroll queries and signoffs
• Assisting with award interpretation, overtime, and penalty rates
• Supporting cross-skilling within the team to build resilience and capability
• Working closely several projects including superannuation transitions, time and attendance and payroll simplification projects.
• Supporting the simplification of payrolls and the movement of employees to common platforms
• Involvement in time & attendance projects (not in a leading capacity)

Please note this is a 12-month contract role.

THE CRITERIA
To be successful in this role you will have a strong background in fast moving industries and have worked in complex, multi-entity environments.
The ideal candidate will bring:

• Hands-on payroll processing experience, ideally across multiple entities
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation; New Zealand experience is a plus
• Proven ability to support and upskill junior team members
• Familiarity with UKG Ready (Kronos) or similar systems
• A down-to-earth, collaborative approach.
