POSITION OVERVIEW

This successful construction business works across a mix of residential and commercial builds of varying scale ($20m-$150m) and specialises in plastering, carpentry and cladding. They are seeking an experienced Site Foreman to oversee operations and contribute to a secure, efficient and compliant construction environment. Site Foreman responsibilities include ensuring safety measures are upheld, optimising resource utilisation for efficiency, maintenance of budget parameters, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and delivery of high-quality project outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Daily Site Programming: Oversee the execution of daily site work in alignment with the business’ commercial construction program.

Collaborative Project Oversight: Work closely with the Construction Manager, Project Coordinators and project team to plan and continually assess project progress.

Resource Optimization: Efficiently manage site resources, including labour, machinery, materials, and subcontractors, to ensure timely project completion. This includes ordering materials in a manner that is consistent with cash flow requirements.

Equipment Accountability: Ensure the prompt return of all hired-in equipment upon task completion.

Documentation Management: Expedite the delivery of relevant documents from clients or authorities to the Construction Manager.

Variation Identification: Identify and document any potential contract variations, promptly notifying the Construction Manager.

Quality Control: Enforce the business’ commercial quality control systems among site staff.

Safety Compliance: Monitor site safety compliance, ensuring the use of appropriate safety equipment and promptly reporting unsafe conditions to the Safety Representative.

Team Development: Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports to foster their professional growth.

Delegation and Communication: Delegate tasks effectively to direct reports, ensuring clear communication for successful task execution.

Industrial Harmony: Take necessary measures to maintain a harmonious working environment on site at all times.

Training Participation: Actively engage in on-the-job training to support the development of team members.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE...

Extensive Commercial Construction Background: A minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience in the commercial construction industry.

Exceptional Time Management: Proficient time management skills to ensure efficient project execution.

Negotiation and Relationship Expertise: Strong abilities in negotiation and the establishment of meaningful professional relationships.

Outstanding Communication and Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong leadership capabilities.
