This is a critical role in connecting with women and making a difference.
We’re looking for Women’s Advocates for an exciting new program working with women who have been living in prison and are rebuilding their lives in the community.
This role is part of an innovative program and is critical to supporting women in the program with an emphasis on wellbeing, social connections, employment, and housing.

What You’ll Do
Welcome and support women in the program to be connected, safe and respected
Support women to create, follow, and manage routines to meet commitments
Have conversations with women to inform planning and reviews that help women have a great life after prison
Connect with other services and programs especially other women’s services
Respect and manage privacy and confidentiality for women
Participate in meetings, decision making, and supervision
You will need
Good interpersonal and relationship skills
Good problem-solving skills
Calmness and emotional composure
Patience with repetition and taking time to achieve outcomes
Energy and determination
Good organisation and time management skills

Being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this role under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
This role may include flexible hours that can be negotiated, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or public holidays. It may also include travel to multiple sites and/or outreach locations for meeting with women and other program commitments. Award-based penalties and allowances apply as per the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS).
