The MNCLHD are currently seeking a Patient Experience Officer to join our amazing team at Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
About you
- Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identify as being Aboriginal and be accepted in the community as such. All applicants must supply either a letter of Aboriginality signed under the common seal from a recognised incorporated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community organisation such as Land Council or Elders group, Aboriginal Medical Service or a letter on letterhead from a Local Aboriginal Land Council demonstrating membership of the Council. Exemption is claimed under Section 14D of the Anti-discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
- Demonstrated extensive experience in customer service, negotiation skills and de-escalation of challenging behaviours.
- Demonstrated resilience, flexibility and initiative in their job demands.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to interact well with the public and health staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in computer literacy.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated understanding of Health Funds Insurance coverage and Medicare arrangements including use in the public hospital environment.

What you'll be doing
The Patient Experience Officer is a passionate, empathetic individual who cares deeply about people particularly our vulnerable populations. This position is responsible for enhancing communication, particularly between the patient, families, carers and clinical staff.
The focus of the role is maintaining and improving the experience of patients/families within our Emergency Department.

Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres extending from Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area in the south to Coffs Harbour Local Government Area in the north.
