As a Customer Service Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for our community members, supporting daily front desk operations, handling customer enquiries, and assisting with administrative tasks. Working under the guidance of the Aquatics Coordinator and Duty Managers, you’ll play a key role in delivering outstanding customer experiences while supporting safe and efficient facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly, professional front desk service, handling enquiries, bookings, and transactions
  • Answer phone and email communications and support membership and program registrations
  • Assist with daily administrative duties including banking, stock ordering, and data entry
  • Contribute to end-of-day reconciliation and reporting processes
  • Ensure reception and entry areas are clean, safe, and welcoming
  • Collaborate with aquatic and recreation teams to support community programs and events

Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence with basic computer systems
  • Previous experience in a customer service or reception role (aquatic or recreation setting a bonus!)
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)

Mandatory Requirements

YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

  • Valid Working with Children Clearance.
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
