We are working with a privately owned Australian mining consumables business seeking a highly capable Data Analyst (Finance) to join their dynamic and growing team. This role plays a key part in transforming operational and financial data into actionable insights that drive smarter business decisions.

With a strong focus on Power BI reporting, Pronto ERP data, and financial analysis, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, commercially driven environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to improve business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insights

Analyse and interpret financial and operational data to drive commercial decision-making

Create and maintain Power BI dashboards to report on inventory, efficiency, site performance, customer trends, and stock movements

Provide actionable insights on cost drivers, gross margins, stock turnover, and product performance

Support the development of forecasting models related to costs, pricing, and supplier trends

Reporting & Visualisation

Build and manage reporting structures in Power BI, including custom visualisations for internal and board reporting

Work with cross-functional teams to automate reporting processes and ensure data accuracy

Contribute to Board pack reporting with visual and data-driven summaries

Provide regular reporting on batch costing, recoverables, and operational efficiencies

Financial Modelling & Planning

Support pricing and costing initiatives with financial models and what-if analysis

Benchmark cost structures and support price reviews across product categories

Collaborate with Engineering, Logistics, and Commercial teams on pricing inputs

Identify cost-saving opportunities through detailed data analysis

Essential

Previous experience as a Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, or similar analytical role

Strong experience with Power BI and Pronto ERP

Commercial mindset with strong financial literacy and problem-solving skills

Ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable format

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Experience working in and knowledge of the mining industry

Desirable:

Experience in manufacturing or industrial supply chains

Exposure to pricing or commercial finance

Training and documentation skills
