My client is a privately owned, Australian-based mining consumable business, looking for a commercially focused Pricing Analyst to join their high-performing team. This critical role is responsible for driving pricing strategy, margin analysis and business insights through effective modelling and reporting.

This opportunity suits someone with a strong background in data-driven financial analysis, preferably in the mining or industrial sectors. Strong Power BI capability and experience with Pronto are essential.

The role is responsible for ensuring effective planning, analysis and reporting of production activities, as well as effective management of a group of subcontractors. Key Accountabilities or Activities include key measures and outputs (how the performance of the incumbent is to be objectively measured using qualitative or quantitative data).

Ownership and Development of Pricing and Costing Model

Develop and maintain robust pricing and costing models conjunction with Engineering and Logistics

Develop competitive pricing models

Benchmark pricing against known competitors to support tender success

Develop price review mechanisms in conjunction with Commercial

Develop margin analysis models by category

Develop margin analysis models by customer

Planning

Regular benchmark planning report against known market moves in pricing

Set the process for price review per contract and overall within the market

Develop forecasting models for potential cost impacts based on raw material costs, exchange rates and shipping rates

Lead review of stock holding / category reliance based on cost structures

Creation of reporting structures within Power BI

Power BI experience is essential for this role

Analysis of all operational aspects of the business

Reporting on inventory trends

Creating customer focused Power BI Reports monthly and quarterly

Creating stock management reporting within Power BI

Creating Operations and Site Dashboards within Power BI

Analysis

Recoverable reports

Efficiency reports

Batch costs and costing of individual inventory items

Gross margin reporting

Financial Reporting

Ownership of all gross margin reporting

Ownership of inventory holding and inventory stock turn reporting within warehouse and customer based stocks

Contribute to Board pack reporting with all of the above

Essential:

Experience as a Pricing Analyst or similar analytical role in a mining or industrial setting

Strong skills in Power BI and Pronto

Advanced financial modelling, pricing, and forecasting capabilities

Sound understanding of commercial and operational data

Confidence in presenting complex analysis and developing user-focused reporting tools

Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail

Quick leaner and adapter
