Two Positions Available!
Perfectly suited for community-minded individuals with a passion for customer service and fostering learning and literacy, we now have 2 opportunities for Library Officers (Learning Hub Officers) to provide welcoming customer service, assist in delivering learning programs and contribute to the provision of library circulation services.
Opportunity 1 – full-time, 1.0 FTE (152 hours over a 4 week period), temporary until 30 June 2026
Opportunity 2 – part-time, 0.5 FTE (76 hours over a 4 week period), temporary until 31 December 2025

What you will be doing in these roles:
Provide welcoming customer service to the Canning community through floor shifts at our thriving local libraries
Support the provision of Library circulation services and operations
Demonstrate and promote physical and digital Library resources
Assist in delivering programs to encourage community learning, participation and belonging
Contribute positively to achieve the outcomes outlined in the City’s Learning City Strategy
How you will thrive and what can you bring to the role?
You’re highly customer focused and have a genuine passion for helping and serving customers!
You also have proven experience in a customer focused role and excellent interpersonal skills
Prior library experience and experience delivering library programs and events will be highly regarded!
You have advanced digital literacy skills and confidence in guiding customers in using library technologies
You have flexibility to work across a 7 day per week roster, including evenings and weekends across the City’s libraries. Please see our locations and opening hours
You have a valid Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old)
