About the role

This is a 7:7 FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) from Perth, for Marlu Resources Group Pty Ltd, a leading player in the mining, resources and transport industry.

As the FIFO Health and Safety Officer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the company's workforce on site across both WA and NT.

What you'll be doing

Implementing and maintaining health and safety management systems to meet legislative requirements and industry standards

Conducting regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards

Delivering health and safety training to employees and contractors to promote a strong safety culture

Investigating incidents and accidents, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Liaising with management, employees and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations

Monitoring and analysing health and safety performance data to drive continuous improvement

Promoting and encouraging a proactive approach to health and safety across the organisation

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field

Minimum 2-5 years' experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the mining, resources or transport industry

Thorough understanding of relevant health and safety legislation, codes of practice and industry standards

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with all stakeholders

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address safety issues

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Willingness to work on a FIFO basis and adapt to the unique challenges of a remote site

Hold a "Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing" qualification
