About the Role
As a Community Projects Officer, you will:
Manage and deliver environmental and community projects, including grant-funded and capital works programs.
Support and collaborate with community groups, including bush care and community gardening initiatives.
Coordinate, supervise, and monitor contractors to ensure high-quality, safe, and timely project delivery.
Undertake site assessments and lead community consultations to inform project planning and Reserve Action Plans.
Promote positive community attitudes toward public open space through education and engagement.
Represent the Bushland Team on Council committees and build strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Plan and deliver community events and environmental education initiatives (e.g., National Tree Day, Urban Forest programs).
Contribute to cross-divisional environmental strategies and initiatives within Council.
Ensure compliance with WH&S standards across all project activities.
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related fields and/or significant relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in community consultation and working with community groups.
Demonstrated experience in co-ordinating and/or managing public open space projects and contractors
Well-developed organisational and interpersonal skills to be able to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Immediate level computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and GIS applications.
Highly customer and delivery focused.
Current NSW Class C Drivers licence
