Position Title: Senior Project Officer

Duration: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 36.25 hrs/week until 30 June 2026

Location: Berrinba (preferred), Brisbane City

Payrate: $76/hr + super

Maxima is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as a A06 Senior Project Officer for one of our government clients.

The Senior Project Officer will be part of the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST), responsible for leading responsive treatment initiatives, strengthening government partnerships, and promoting education and self-management of fire ants in the suppression area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the responsive treatment program ensuring timely treatment of reported fire ant nests.
• Prioritise treatment by licensed pest technicians in high-risk areas.
• Use and support system enhancements of existing mapping tools and data systems.
• Generate and present accurate mapping and data insights for internal and external stakeholders.
• Design and deliver training and workshops on using systems, apps, and mapping tools.
• Support MOUs, collaborative agreements, and communication plans for aerial treatment and fire ant control with government bodies.
• Coordinate and provide free training, treatment products, and equipment to schools in high-density fire ant areas.
• Work collaboratively across the FAST and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Contribute to evaluations and reporting of FAST initiatives and projects.
• Some weekend work may be required.

What We’re Looking For:

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or transferable experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Familiarity with mapping tools such as ArcGIS.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa (provide proof and notify if work rights change).
