About us headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Wollongong work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people. Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Wollongong. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT. About the position The Youth Care Coordinator will work collaboratively with a young person and their family/carers to assess the mental health and psycho-social support needs of the young people referred to headspace and coordinate transition to appropriate support and treatment streams within and external to headspace in accordance with the clinical need. The position will also have a community engagement component, working closely with the community engagement officer for health promotion and related activities. Youth Care Coordinator fixed part time (0.8 FTE) position. Contract till 30th of June 2026 with a possibility of extension.
We are looking for someone with:
- Passion and experience working with young people
- Qualifications in a relevant field or working towards same e.g. youth work, community welfare, social work, psychology, peer work, occupational therapy, counselling or other related qualifications or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Experience delivering individual and group interventions
- Experience providing coordination of care and the ability to work from a recovery-oriented framework
