About Argoweld
Proudly operating in the Gawler region for over 40 years, Argoweld is a trusted name in fabrication and maintenance. Over the last five years, we’ve grown steadily, expanding our specialist work across resource, civil and construction, transport and agriculture, funeral and mortuary products, and marine and aquaculture.
We’re a small team — but dynamic, adaptable and proud of the variety in our work. Every job is tailored, quality is non-negotiable, and we back each other to get it done right. We’re ready to sharpen how we work and bring in the right leader to help us grow stronger, smarter and ready for what’s next.
About the role
This role is part of our strategic plan to streamline, grow and strengthen how we work — setting Argoweld up for bigger opportunities and rapid growth in the near future. We’re looking for someone with proven operational leadership skills who brings well-rounded industry experience and fresh ideas. You’ll know how to apply best practice in a way that works for our operation, review and tighten current processes, drive continuous improvement and lead change as we grow.
You’ll report to the Senior Leadership team. You’ll be the steady link between day-to-day operations and our bigger goals — making sure our people, jobs and resources are organised, our customers are looked after, and the management team stays well informed.
Operational Excellence: Own the day-to-day — keep our jobs flowing, our people organised and our customers happy.
Continuous improvement – streamline, optimise and develop our operations as we grow and take Argoweld to the next level!
Leadership – Develop, coach and mentor the team — lead from the front, bring people with you and build trust.
Inventory Management – Make sure we have what we need, when we need it — no more, no less.
Project Management – Take a job from start to finish. You will have the reigns to schedule, purchase materials and oversee all activities
Safety Conscience – Keep safety front and centre — protect our people, our equipment and our reputation.
The Ideal Candidate
You’re the kind of operations leader who’s built a reputation for running a tight, well-organised operation — not through micromanaging, but through structure, clarity and trust. You know your trade, you know people, and you know how to bring both together to get real results. You take pride in seeing things done properly — no loose ends, no shortcuts, just a quality product.
Your steady, structured approach earns respect on the floor and in the office. You’re confident in your judgement — you stand by your decisions but you know when to listen and take on a better way. You set high standards but you’re balanced and fair — you make expectations clear, hold yourself and others accountable, and support people to meet them. You value clear communication, direct conversations and practical action over fancy talk. When plans change — as they always do — you stay calm, solve problems and keep people focused on what matters.
You see the big picture but you live in the real world — you know it’s the day-to-day details, the small wins and the honest conversations that keep a business running well. You want to step into a role where your experience actually matters — where you’re trusted to help run things the right way, make decisions that are right for the business, and help shape the future of Argoweld.

Argoweld’s Culture and Values
At Argoweld, our vision is simple: We provide the highest quality fabrication and maintenance services. Our mission is to deliver exceptional work through clear communication, strong collaboration and the adaptability to meet each client’s unique needs — every time.
No two days are the same here. We work across mortuary transport, marine and aquaculture, construction, transport and agriculture — and that variety means our team stays flexible, open to change and ready to solve problems as they come up.
Quality is at the heart of what we do. We set high standards for our work and our people — because our reputation depends on it. We value people who take pride in doing things properly, who spot mistakes early and own their part in making sure the end product meets or exceeds expectations.
Communication is a cornerstone of how we operate. We speak clearly and concisely — on the floor, with our clients and within the team. We value people who use fact and logic to influence decisions, guide the team and solve problems without fuss. Safety is non-negotiable: everyone goes home safe and well, with no incidents to people or equipment.
Accountability runs through every job — we own what we do, take responsibility for outcomes and hold ourselves to account, even when no one’s looking. And we back our people to keep growing — personally and professionally — because our future depends on it.
For us, success isn’t just numbers on a page — it’s how you lead, how we reach our goals together, and the future you help shape for Argoweld.
