About the Role
As the AOD & PIR Team Leader at Rumbalara, you’ll take a vital leadership role in guiding a culturally safe and responsive team that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This role leads the coordination of Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) services and the Public Intoxication Response (PIR) program, ensuring operations align with cultural values, self-determination, and community needs. You’ll supervise staff, manage rosters, contribute to recruitment and performance, and work closely with the Program Manager to oversee service delivery and resources.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by leading programs that address complex and intersecting needs with care and cultural integrity.
About You
Degree or diploma in AOD, social work, psychology, nursing, or public health.
Experience managing or coordinating responses to AOD-related harms or public intoxication
Knowledge and skills:
Experience developing protocols for responding to intoxication and community safety issues.
Knowledge of legislative frameworks (e.g. decriminalisation of public intoxication, duty of care).
Capacity to monitor service delivery and meet key performance indicators (KPIs
Experience managing teams in high-pressure settings.
Ability to promote cultural safety and trauma-informed practice.
Skilled in de-escalation, critical incident management, and staff support
What We Offer:
Competitive pay and conditions based on the SCHADS Award – Level 6 Pay Point 1-3 based on experience and qualifications.
Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.
