The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust is responsible for the management of Sydney Harbour sites including Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour, Woolwich Dock and Parklands in Woolwich, Sub Base Platypus in North Sydney, Georges Heights, Middle Head and Chowder Bay in Mosman, North Head Sanctuary in Manly, Marine Biological Station in Watsons Bay and Macquarie Lightstation in Vaucluse.
Our mission is to “bring to life our natural and cultural heritage and provide a lasting legacy for all Australians through conservation, remediation and the adaptive reuse of places in our care”.
Sites that were for many years hidden away from public view are now open for all, containing an extraordinary mix of historic buildings, magnificent harbour views, pristine natural landscapes and defence heritage. These public spaces and parklands now offer major events, exhibitions, venue hire, accommodation, tours and business tenancy.
Role Overview
The People & Culture Coordinator - Volunteers is responsible for coordinating and delivering activities required to manage the volunteer life cycle at the Harbour Trust under the guidance of the Manager People & Culture. This role is to support the implementation of the Harbour Trust Volunteers Strategy 2024-2029.
Essential (Qualifications, attributes, skills and knowledge)
Experience in:
managing the life cycle of employees and/or volunteers
setting up frameworks or guidelines that enable a process to be followed correctly
managing or leading change projects
High level of written, collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus
Ability to partner with key stakeholders from across the business
Exposure to project management and strategy implementation
High level of computer literacy, intermediate skills in MS Office Suite, Microsoft teams
Continual improvement mindset and a willingness to search for more efficient and effective methods
Ability to interpret information and make decisions within scope of responsibility
Ability to maintain confidentiality, self-motivation and professionalism
Effective time management and ability to prioritise workloads and competing demands
Desirable
Volunteer management for medium-sized not for profit organisation(s)
Experience using SharePoint
Ability to utilise a Human Resources Information System or Volunteer Management System
Qualification
Human Resources Certificate, Diploma or Degree
Eligibility:
Satisfy a Police Check
Hold Australian citizenship
