Ri Engineering is seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter (General) to join our Whyalla-based team. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse machinery and equipment in both workshop and site-based environments.

What You’ll Do

As part of our mechanical team, your responsibilities will include:

Installing and assembling mechanical components and equipment

Conducting preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing

Diagnosing faults and conducting mechanical repairs on plant machinery

Dismantling and rebuilding components such as pumps, gearboxes, valves, and motors

Working from engineering drawings and using measuring and machining tools

Supporting machinery relocation and onsite installations

Upholding safety, quality, and documentation standards across all tasks

What You Bring

Trade qualification as a Fitter or Mechanical Engineering Tradesperson

Certificate III (with 2+ years on-the-job training), or

Certificate IV, or

At least 3 years’ full-time relevant work experience

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical documents

Experience with hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery

Solid knowledge of safe work procedures and WHS compliance

Reliable, team-focused, and proactive work attitude

Licences and Requirements

Current driver's licence (mandatory)

Forklift licence (preferred)

Confined space, working at heights, or EWP ticket (advantageous)

Working Conditions

Physically active role: lifting, bending, standing, tool use

Work in workshop and outdoor environments, including heat, dust, and noise

Must adhere to WHS procedures and wear PPE at all times
