About Us

As Tasmania’s publicly owned training provider, TasTAFE is a vital contributor to the prosperity of the state’s economy through supporting jobs and employment and the economic resilience of our businesses and industry. With a focus on practical, real-life learning, we work hard to ensure the training our learners receive is industry relevant and we provide real industry skills that are highly valued by employers.

TasTAFE aspires to be a place of innovation, creating new ways of training, finding solutions, delivering differently, and increasing access for all.

The Role

TasTAFE has a unique opportunity to join our team working across multiple campus locations. If you love variety, this twelve-month fixed term, full-time contract role could be exactly what you’re looking for. You’ll spend time at our Derwent Park campus, but we’ll give you the freedom to paddle across the river and make our Clarence campus on the eastern shore your new home or follow the delicious aroma of coffee straight into the heart of the city at our Campbell St campus. It’s all about flexibility, variety, a dash of adventure & the ability to move between office locations with ease!

At Client Central, each day brings new challenges and opportunities in a vibrant, fulfilling, and enjoyable work environment. Whether you are just starting out in your career or you’ve got decades of experience, we want to hear from you (especially if brilliant customer service is your thing).

On any given day, you will:

Spin through clerical and reception duties with finesse, serving students, teachers, and the public with style.

Be the info maestro, guiding folks on courses and schedules, whether in-person or online.

Work your magic with documents and emails using various software and programs.

Dive into the admin hustle, from invoicing to database maintenance, keeping things organised.

Tame the data jungle with precision, while revamping office procedures for top-notch efficiency.

What you bring:

A passion for delivering amazing customer service (this is not negotiable)

A level of tech savviness (no, a laptop restart does not solve everything)

Exceptional communication skills

A willingness to play a vital role in a team environment (you’re a team player)

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.

Supporting a Diverse Workforce

At TasTAFE, we encourage applications from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, people living with a disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, mature age workers and members of the LGBTIQ+ community.

We are a diverse and inclusive workplace and understand the importance of flexibility. We want our workforce to reflect the diversity in our community, and we are committed to building a culture we are all proud of.

Join TasTAFE

If you think this could be the opportunity for you, we encourage you to apply by submitting a current copy of your resume (we do not require a cover letter).

To be eligible, you must have the right to work in Australia.

We're conducting an agile selection process, reviewing applications as they arrive. Candidate screening and interviews will commence immediately.

If you require any reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process, please let our recruitment team know during selection. For more information regarding this opportunity, please call TasTAFE on 1300 655 307 and ask to speak to a member of the Talent Team.
