About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join their team based in Perth. In this role, you'll contribute to a major resource project, supporting the design and delivery of bulk materials handling equipment.

Initial 12 month contract based in the Perth office.

Responsibilities

Design and check mechanical drawings for bulk materials handling equipment.

Produce clear, accurate 2D and 3D mechanical drawings to support project delivery.

Ensure designs meet operational, maintenance, safety, and sustainability requirements across the asset lifecycle.

Identify and resolve technical issues, developing innovative solutions when needed.

Ensure deliverables are completed and checked according to company QA procedures.

Communicate regularly with project stakeholders including Lead Designers, Engineers, and offshore Workshare teams.

Support the introduction of cost-effective solutions that maximise client production outcomes.

Experience and Requirements

Proficiency in 3D modelling and 2D drafting (MicroStation) is essential.

Over 10 years’ experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on bulk materials handling.

Ability to produce and check mechanical drawings

Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
