We are seeking a Senior Manager People & Culture to lead the People & Culture function at UWA Sport.

About UWA Sport

Our workforce consists of 40 FTE staff. With over 200 casuals, and volunteers engaged in delivering our programs and services. UWA Sport prioritises UWA student employability by engaging students through practicum placements, internships and early career employment.

The Opportunity

This leadership role works closely with the General Manager and Leadership Team to shape and deliver people strategies across the entire employee lifecycle, while overseeing Work Health & Safety, Risk Management, and key IT systems.

Backed by a trusted WA institution, you’ll support and develop a diverse workforce that includes staff, students, contractors, and volunteers. Combining leadership with hands-on delivery, you’ll lead the People team and drive operations across recruitment, employee relations, training and development, policy, compliance, systems, metrics, remuneration, and wellbeing.

From providing expert advice and coaching to ensuring the efficient delivery of compliant HR functions, you’ll help shape a positive, high-performing organisational culture. You will also play a lead role in supporting inclusive practices across the organisation and embedding a safe and welcoming environment.

About You

We’re looking for a hands-on leader who is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive, compliant workplace.

You will bring:

A passion for people and their development.

Track record of creating and leading safe, inclusive, fun, and effective workplace practices.

Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and HR and Work Health Safety compliance frameworks.

Experience across the full employee lifecycle, with the ability to lead while executing day-to-day HR operations.

Excellent judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to coach and support leaders.

A solutions-focused mindset and a collaborative, values-led approach.

Demonstrated ability to use data and insights to influence decisions and measure impact.
