Position Summary

This is a key position of the division with responsibility for effectively managing projects and staff. High requirements of research, planning, business development and delivering risk mitigation strategies. Audit senior managers also have a responsibility for extensive client contact, staff training and liaising with third parties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify and address technical accounting and audit issues;

Performs reviews of audit work;

Reviews of financial statements to ensure compliance with Accounting Standards and preparation of reports and opinions to management;

Summarises the key areas of the engagement for the partner;

Ensures completion of each assignment to a high quality standard, within budget and on or before deadlines;

Conducting various audit engagements simultaneously with numerous engagement team members per audit;

Negotiates fees and demonstrates commercial responsibility for profitability of each client;

Contributes to meetings and is able to make effective presentations to staff and clients;

Assisting with management and co-ordination of the audit team including training, mentoring and methodology compliance;

Monitors staffing requirements and future resource planning issues;

Act as a leading technical expert on specific industries and/or areas;

Cross sell the Firm’s other services; and

Business development and marketing activities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major

Completed CA or equivalent

DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:

Essential

8 years’ experience audit experience

3 years’ experience managing a team

Strong communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Strong prioritising skills

Demonstrate problem solving and decision making skills

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Detailed working knowledge and application of Corporations Act, Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards and other applicable legislation

Business development experience
