About the role

As a Drafting Coordinator at Miningcommsteel Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's engineering and technical services. In this full-time position based in Kewdale, WA, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all drafting activities to ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects.

You will also be required to have frequent visits to our office in China and occasional visits to our sites within Australia.

The ability to speak Mandarin will be seen as an advantage.

What you'll be doing

Coordinate and oversee the drafting team to ensure timely and accurate completion of engineering drawings and documentation

Review and check drafting work for compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and company procedures

Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and priorities

Allocate and monitor drafting resources to meet project deadlines

Provide guidance and mentoring to junior drafting staff to support their professional development

Implement and maintain drafting processes, procedures, and quality control measures

Contribute to the continuous improvement of drafting practices and the implementation of new technologies

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Engineering Drafting or a related discipline

Minimum 5 years' experience in a drafting coordinator or senior drafting role, preferably in the engineering or construction industry

Proficient in the use of CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve drafting-related issues

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines

Thorough understanding of engineering standards, specifications, and drafting best practices
