At First Steps Learning Academy Marrickville, we understand that the first two years of a child's life are the most formative. We're seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and experienced Room Leader to guide our Babies Room (0–2 years) and provide a safe, calm, and engaging environment for our youngest learners.

About the Role

As the Room Leader for the Babies Room, you will:

Lead and mentor a team of educators to ensure high-quality care

Establish and maintain consistent daily routines that support each child’s emotional and physical wellbeing

Design and implement developmentally appropriate programs aligned with the EYLF and NQS

Monitor and document individual development and emerging milestones

Create a nurturing and stimulating environment that reflects children’s needs and interests

Build strong, respectful partnerships with families

Foster an inclusive space that celebrates diversity and supports every child’s unique journey

What You’ll Need

Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved)

Demonstrated experience working with infants aged 0–2 years

Sound understanding of developmental milestones in the first two years

Proven leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate a team

HLTAID012 – First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

CHCPRT025 or CHCPRT001 – Child Protection Training

NSW Food Authority Food Handler Basics Training

Excellent communication and organisational skills

A calm, compassionate, and responsive approach to caregiving

A strong understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and regulatory requirements
