ABOUT THE ROLE
Join the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre's Resilient Communities and Social Prescription Programs, delivering life-changing support services to reduce isolation, build social connection and improve community wellbeing.

As a Counsellor, you will:

Provide individual, couple, and family counselling (primarily with adults).

Facilitate intake and clinical assessments, and maintain regular participant support over several months.

Develop, lead, and train peer-led support groups (e.g. grief and loss, Death Café-style groups) based on community-identified needs.

Create referral pathways between health professionals and the HBNC Connecting Communities Program.

Build relationships with local clubs, groups, and health providers to enhance participant engagement.

Administer progress tools and contribute to program evaluation and improvement.

Support participants to build confidence and create sustainable social connections that support long-term wellbeing.

You will play a key role in ensuring programs are effective, inclusive, and sustainable by developing a support group framework and working toward program targets and KPIs under government funding agreements.
