Australian Ocean Biotechnology has been in the Abalone Aquaculture Industry since 1999, we are now seeking a Marine Hatchery Manager to help our Facility Grow and diversification into new species!
This position is only for people who have 2+ years Commercial Marine Hatchery experience with Finfish and are a confident with producing Larvae and Live food in commercial quantities. Whilst leading a small team of 2 Technicians. If you dont have the above experience please dont apply.

This as an exciting opportunity for an individual who is seeking to advance their career in Aquaculture and join a team thats breaking new ground in Species and System Development.
Key Responsibilities:
This Position is Focussed around ensuring production of Quality weened Flounder Fingerlings and Calamari Paralarvae are produced from the Hatchery and Nursery facilities.
Over see larvae rearing and live feed production to ensure high quality, low deformity, high survival rates are produced in a productive manner.
As this work will also be done as part of larger R&D program you will need excellent document keeping skills and clear report writing.
Collaboration with Farm Manager, General Manager, and other farm staff to execute company goals and KPI's.
Collaboration with the various government departments involved, eg, Animal Ethics, EPA, Fisheries, Marine Farming, Biosecurity Tas.
A Continuous Improvement mindset and culture will be apart of the role. Lean Training can be provided, helping the Business the team and yourself improve everyday :)
Assisting with stock movement, grading and sorting abalone, some new species work as required.
Upholding Safe and high standards for General Husbandry including Feeding, cleaning stock movement and team work.
Assist with maintenance tasks as required
Helping ensure documentation is accurate and up to date
