Renmark Paringa Council is seeking an experienced, people-focused leader to join our Corporate and Community Services team as Manager People, Safety and Culture.
This pivotal role provides strategic and operational leadership of Council’s human resources, workplace health and safety (WHS), and organisational culture functions. You will work closely with the CEO, Directors, and leaders across the organisation to ensure our people, systems, and culture align with Council’s strategic goals and values.
About the role
As the Manager People, Safety and Culture, you will:
Lead the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention.
Drive a positive, inclusive and high-performing organisational culture.
Ensure compliance and continuous improvement in WHS and risk management systems.
Support and advise leaders on people, performance, and industrial relations matters.
Manage workforce planning, position descriptions, return-to-work, and training needs analysis.
Foster an environment where our values – Accountable, Honest, Respectful and Unified – are lived daily.
About you
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience leading human resources, WHS and cultural change programs in a complex organisation.
Strong working knowledge of employment law, industrial relations, WHS legislation, and risk management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach and build relationships at all levels.
Proven ability to manage budgets, deliver strategic outcomes and role model organisational values.
Tertiary qualifications in human resources, business, industrial relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
