Salary range:

Level 5 $91,398 to $96,582 plus super (Building Surveying Technician or currently working towards)

Level 6 $98,223 to $105,770 plus super (Building Surveyor Level 2)

Level 7 $108,164 to $114,630 plus super (Building Surveyor Level 1)

About this position

The City is seeking a dynamic individual to join our esteemed Building Services team. Based at the City’s Civic Centre, this role is crucial in ensuring building applications are handled with precision, efficiency and professionalism.

As a Building Surveyor, you will assess applications for accuracy and compliance, report on various building conditions, and provide technical advice to staff and stakeholders. You will also be relied upon to offer prompt, courteous information to the public in person or over the phone.

The salary range will be tailored to your qualifications and experience.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

Proven expertise in the building industry

Sound customer service skills

The ability to manage competing priorities and adhere to strict deadlines

Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders

Sound analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Local Government experience is desirable, but not essential.

Essential requirements

Relevant qualifications or accreditations (either Building Surveyor Technician or currently working towards this or Building Surveyor Level 1-2)

Driver’s licence

Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition
