About the role
As PWS' Project Estimator, you’ll be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates and pricing proposals for fixed-price wind energy projects. Your work will span onshore wind construction, component replacements, repowering projects, and service-related scopes. You’ll collaborate with both our Head of Construction and Head of Service to ensure that bids are accurate, competitive, and aligned with execution plans.

You’ll also play a key role in identifying risks, finding cost-effective solutions, and supporting the transition from bid to project delivery. The role is ideal for someone who thrives on cross-functional teamwork, has strong commercial awareness, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same.

Key responsibilities

Analyse project documentation and scopes to develop complete and competitive cost estimates

Build pricing for labor, equipment, materials, logistics, and subcontractors

Engage with suppliers and internal experts to gather and validate pricing inputs

Identify and quantify project risks, suggest cost-saving alternatives when relevant

Ensure assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions are clearly documented

Work closely with sales and leadership on proposal strategy and pricing reviews

Support project handovers by providing well-documented estimate files and summaries

Continuously improve internal cost models and estimating tools based on project feedback

What we are looking for

Familiarity with wind turbine scopes (installation, maintenance, upgrades, major component exchange)

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, especially in Excel

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Experience working with fixed-price contracts and understanding of commercial risk

Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating with both technical and commercial stakeholders

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, commerce, finance, construction management, or related field preferred, or 3-5 years experience in project estimation (ideally in wind, renewables or construction)
