Coalfields Mechanical & Towing Pty Ltd (CMT) provides mechanical repairs and maintenance to the mining industry and community. Based in Blackwater, CMT has been operating for over 15 years and continues to supply quality workmanship in our industry. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic trade qualified Leading Hand Mechanic to join our team.

We repair a variety of customer's vehicles, from large mining fleets to privately owned vehicles. Full training is provided for our franchise work, including Isuzu Ute Australia and RACQ.

The successful candidate must be a trade-qualified motor mechanic and keen to work on a large variety of makes and models of light vehicles and machinery.

Position Overview
A hands-on role, where you'll be on the tools as well as a providing direction to a small team. As a Leading Hand Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of skilled mechanics while assisting the Store Manager with efficient workflow and job allocation through the workshop.

Responsibilities:

Manage and assist younger technicians with servicing and diagnostics

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as services, tyre rotations, and brake repairs.

Utilise diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose vehicle problems.

Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of repairs.

The suitable person would hold the following traits:

Hold an Automotive Mechanical Trade Qualification

Have Leading Hand / Foreman experience

Hold a Current Manual Driver's License

Ability to diagnose faults in petrol & diesel vehicles

Carry out servicing and repairs

Work as part of a team to achieve operational objectives

Follow correct procedures and guidelines

Good attention to details

General housekeeping and workshop maintenance tidiness

The Following would be an advantage but not essential:

MR Truck license

Air-conditioning license
