About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities by conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment failures, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

You will play a key role in minimizing downtime and ensuring the reliability of mechanical and electrical systems essential to our operations. If you have strong problem-solving skills, welding and fabrication experience, and a proactive attitude, we want to hear from you!

📍 Hours: 38 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
⏳ Occasional overtime on Saturdays as required

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery, tools, and facility systems (e.g., lubrication, filter changes).

Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns efficiently.

Repair and maintain a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment, including machinery, vehicles, building systems, and tools.

Conduct basic plumbing, welding, and electrical repairs as needed.

Ensure all machinery, tools, and equipment operate safely and efficiently, meeting compliance standards.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop and work area.

Document maintenance activities and keep detailed records of repairs performed.

Minor construction or installation projects as needed.

Maintain an accurate spare parts inventory and coordinate the ordering of necessary components.

Keep the company Asset Register up to date.

Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and company procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Collaborate with production teams to reduce equipment downtime and improve overall operational efficiency.

Assist in training and mentoring apprentices or junior maintenance staff when required.

Secure and lock up the site at the end of the workday, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications & Skills

Mechanical and Electrical trade qualification with demonstrated hands-on experience.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance or mechanical repair role, preferably within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.

Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Welding and fabrication experience is required.

Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment for diagnostics, repairs, and fabrication.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive mindset.

Ability to work independently, manage workload efficiently, and take initiative.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Reliable and trustworthy, with a strong work ethic.

Ability to lift and maneuver moderately heavy objects (up to 5000kg with equipment).

Valid driver’s license and forklift license (or willingness to obtain).

Working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations and best practices.

Physically fit and able to perform hands-on maintenance work in a factory setting.
