We're representing a mid-sized financial services organisation currently navigating a pivotal transition within its technology function. With the Head of Technology stepping down, this organisation is looking for a hands-on IT Project Manager / Technology Lead to provide immediate cover and drive key platform migration initiatives.

They provide accommodation In three major areas:

• Corporate accommodation for the likes of Google
• Government accommodation for the likes of QLD Government
• Insurance Accommodation - Providing accommodation to insurers whilst claim is being handled

Role Summary

This is a generalist, end-to-end technology leadership role responsible for managing local tech operations, overseeing legacy-to-core platform migration, and ensuring continuity across infrastructure, compliance, and support functions. The successful candidate will report into a senior business leader and liaise closely with global teams (especially Germany-based tech leadership) and local Australian stakeholders across financial services, insurance, and government sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead local technology operations and provide day-to-day oversight of IT activities.
• Manage the migration of a proprietary legacy platform to a modern core system over 6-18 months.
• Handle stakeholder engagement across business units, including leadership, compliance, and external third-party vendors.
• Act as the key point of contact for project delivery, resource planning, and operational continuity during the transition.
• Manage vendor relationships, including a third-party development team and external helpdesk provider.
• Maintain oversight of compliance requirements (e.g., PCI), working closely with global security and infrastructure teams.
• Support broader business visibility initiatives (e.g., visibility projects).
• Supervise a junior tech analyst and coordinate with MSPs as needed (service-desk).

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in project management within technology environments, ideally in the financial services sector.
• Demonstrated experience managing platform or infrastructure migrations.
• Strong stakeholder management experience, including C-level and cross-functional global teams.
• Broad technical knowledge, with depth in infrastructure, cloud (Microsoft stack), and data centre environments.
• Understanding of compliance and data security requirements (especially PCI).
• Comfortable working in a hands-on generalist capacity across various tech functions.
