Bellbowrie Sports and Community Club (BSCC) is seeking a passionate and experienced Venue Manager to lead the operations of one of West Brisbane’s most dynamic not-for-profit community clubs.

About the Club

BSCC is a beloved community venue sitting on 5 hectares, featuring multiple sporting fields (soccer, cricket, hockey), facilities used by local schools and community groups, and a vibrant clubhouse with:

26 gaming machines

A fully licensed bar with TAB

A commercial kitchen and bistro

Expansive outdoor deck and dining areas

As a well-established suburban venue with little local competition, there is significant room for growth in community engagement, event hosting, and revenue generation. It’s the ideal canvas for a visionary hospitality leader.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Venue Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind daily operations, community engagement, and commercial performance. You’ll:

Lead from the front, engaging with members and building strong local relationships

Manage all aspects of the venue including bar, bistro, gaming, functions, compliance, and staff

Grow the business by pursuing new sponsorships, partnerships, and promotional opportunities

Innovate – bring fresh ideas and events that connect the club to the local community

Ensure compliance with licensing, safety, and wage requirements

Monitor financial performance and make smart, commercial decisions using P&L insight

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a “publican-style” operator – someone people gravitate to – with a passion for hospitality, a community-first mindset, and proven leadership.

To be successful, you’ll have:

Experience managing a multi-faceted hospitality business (e.g. bar, gaming, food)

A track record of leading engaged, high-performing teams

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Financial literacy and confidence reading P&Ls and managing margins, wages, and expenses

Deep understanding of gaming, cash, stock management, and licensing requirements

A creative mindset with the drive to try new ideas and initiatives

Highly Desirable:

Previous experience in a Venue Manager role

Familiarity with multi-sport facilities and community-based operations

Demonstrated success in sponsorship and revenue growth strategies

Licensing & Compliance (Essential)

Current QLD Approved Manager’s Liquor License

RMLV Certificate

Eligibility for nomination for gaming operations

Full permanent working rights in Australia (PR or Citizenship is mandatory)
