The Ballpark Portside is Brisbane’s go-to spot for baseball batting cages, digital darts, pool, cold drinks, and top-tier hospitality. We’re located at Portside Wharf in Hamilton, and we’re known for offering a big slice of American-inspired fun with friendly-as Aussie service.

As we grow, we’re looking for a Venue Manager who can take the reins, lead the team from the front, and keep our standards sky-high while making sure every guest has an epic experience.

About the Role

This is a full-time, hands-on leadership role reporting directly to our Operations Manager. It’s perfect for a seasoned Assistant Manager ready to take that next step, or a current Venue Manager looking for a fresh, fun environment where they can truly make a mark.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the venue, driving great service, managing bookings and systems, and creating a team culture that reflects the energy and personality of The Ballpark.

You’ll Be Responsible For:

Leading the floor and bar during service – always visible, always engaged

Supporting and working with the Ops Manager on planning, staffing, and reporting

Managing multiple booking systems and POS platforms confidently

Hiring, training, and developing your own team of legends

Rostering, stock control, and general venue admin

Handling customer enquiries and delivering high-quality service every time

Working and executing events, bookings, casual visits, and corporate group experiences

Driving a workplace culture where the team wants to show up – and guests keep coming back

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a leadership role – High achieving Assistant Manager or Venue Manager level

A confident, people-first approach to service

Strong understanding of hospitality systems – H&L, Sevenrooms experience highly regarded

Someone with initiative who loves autonomy and accountability

A great communicator who can motivate and manage a young, dynamic team

Bonus points for experience in multi-activity or entertainment venues (but not essential)
