Environmental Health Officer (Temporary Position)
Are you passionate about public health and making a positive impact in the community? We're seeking a dedicated Environmental Health Officer to join a dynamic team on a temporary basis. This role offers competitive pay of $50-$60 per hour + super and the opportunity to work on diverse and meaningful projects.
About the Role
As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting healthy outcomes and ensuring the safety of the community. Key responsibilities include:
- Compliance & Inspections: Inspect registered establishments and ensure adherence to public health legislation.
- Customer Service: Investigate community complaints and provide expert advice on Food Safety Programs and infectious disease control.
- Health Monitoring: Conduct water sampling for swimming pools and spas, and assist in controlling communicable diseases.
- Special Projects: Contribute to public health initiatives and work collaboratively with the team to achieve impactful results.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Health Science (Public & Environmental Health) or equivalent.
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation and its application.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage competing priorities.
- A current Victorian Driver's License and flexibility to work outside regular hours when required.
