We are currently seeking applications for a Risk and Compliance Officer to join Financial Services at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 18 months.
Remuneration: ASO6 - Salary Range ($98,478 - $104,165p.a.).
About the opportunity:
As the Risk and Compliance Officer, you'll play a central role in helping Shared Services SA understand and manage risk in a dynamic, high-volume environment. You will lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of risk, audit, and compliance activities - with a focus on embedding a strong culture of governance, accountability, and cyber-awareness.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders across all business units, supporting both strategic initiatives and operational improvements. Importantly, the role also includes a hands-on component: assisting with the day-to-day administration of risk and compliance processes, reporting, and documentation.
If you're someone who is equally comfortable delivering strategic advice and rolling up your sleeves to get into the operational detail, this role offers a broad and meaningful challenge.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with:
A solid understanding of risk management, compliance frameworks, and business continuity
The ability to analyse operational processes, identify risks, and translate findings into clear, actionable advice
Experience preparing reports, risk registers, and compliance documentation
Confidence engaging with stakeholders and providing training or guidance as needed
A proactive mindset with a strong attention to detail
Ideally, experience in government, financial services, or similarly complex environments
