- Full time opportunity for up to 4 years (35 hours per week)
- Salary from $125,693 to $ $138,510 pa. + super and annual leave loading

Your role
The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is seeking a Senior Project Officer to lead projects that help us meet the NSW Government's legislated emissions reduction targets under the Climate Change (Net Zero Future) Act 2025.
In this role, you will manage and coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects that drive environmental sustainability across the AHO. You will play a pivotal part in embedding climate action within our operations, raising awareness of climate impacts and commitments, and supporting staff and stakeholders to adopt sustainable practices.
What you'll do
- Review and analyse sustainability policies and legislation to identify trends and inform AHO's approach.
- Develop evidence-based policies, processes and procedures in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Prepare briefings, reports and updates on sustainability initiatives and progress.
- Lead and manage projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget and to quality standards.
- Monitor project risks, benefits and outcomes, and support continuous improvement.
- Conduct research to support planning, benchmarking and decision making.
- Assist and support staff to adopt environmental sustainability practices.
- Support organisational governance, feedback processes, project evaluation mechanisms and organisational reporting aimed at supporting the NSW Government's net zero commitments.
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will bring experience in governance and project delivery, along with:
- The ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and research skills to support evidence-based decision making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of clear reports, briefings, and recommendations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex environment.
- A commitment to supporting Aboriginal communities and contributing to a sustainable future.
As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons.

- is accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
