Business Development Manager – Integrated Facilities Services (HVAC, Mechanical, Fire & Electrical)
Location: Melbourne, VIC
Industry: Facilities Management / Technical Services
APAC FM is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth across key sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare, and education. The ideal candidate will be proactive, strategic, and skilled at building genuine relationships while securing new opportunities. Experience in Facilities Management and Hard Technical Services is essential.
You’ll have the freedom to build your own structured pipeline, approach new clients with strategy and purpose, and deliver tailored service solutions that meet their specific operational needs.
The Opportunity:
Consistently generate and convert leads through a structured and proactive sales approach
Conduct thorough research into prospective clients, their asset portfolios, and building infrastructure
Initiate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, including networking, dinners, and industry events
Develop and deliver compelling proposals, tenders, and presentations that address client pain points and technical requirements
Negotiate and close profitable contracts across service maintenance and retrofit projects
Work closely with operations and estimating teams to ensure feasibility and delivery alignment
Strategically assess opportunities (bid/no-bid) and maintain accurate sales pipelines and reports
Represent a global player at conferences and key industry events to elevate their market presence
Your Background:
5+ years of BDM, sales, or account management experience in facilities management, technical services, or similar
Deep understanding of integrated services including HVAC, BMS, Electrical, Mechanical, and Fire
A proactive, independent, and results-driven mindset – you don’t wait for leads, you create them
Excellent stakeholder management and ability to build genuine, long-term client relationships
Strong written and verbal communication skills – articulate, persuasive, and structured
Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
High levels of professionalism and commercial acumen, with confidence navigating complex deals
A relevant trade, technical or business qualification is highly regarded
