Are you an experienced export professional fluent in Mandarin and English, with a deep understanding of Chinese business culture and food industry dynamics? My client is seeking an Export Manager – China Market to drive B2B growth across food manufacturing and distribution channels in China. This is a newly created, business-critical role, reporting directly to the General Manager – Commercial, and based at the Melbourne Head Office.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a robust export strategy for China, focusing on the B2B food manufacturing sector and major food distributors.
- Build and manage long-term relationships with Chinese partners, navigating both commercial and cultural dynamics with ease.
- Lead negotiations, pricing, and contract management to maximise growth and margin opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including supply chain, marketing, production and executive leadership.
- Represent the company in-market through quarterly business trips to China to deepen relationships and explore new growth avenues.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments and competitor activity to identify and act on emerging opportunities.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in exporting Australian food or agri-food products to international markets—China experience highly preferred.
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English, with the ability to bridge cultural and communication styles.
- Deep understanding of Chinese business etiquette, negotiation practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven success working within complex supply chains and developing B2B customer networks.
- Excellent commercial acumen and relationship management skills
