THE ROLE:

We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially sharp Senior Partnerships Manager to join our Australian commercial team. This role will focus on driving revenue across our Australian portfolio – Professional Planner, Retirement Magazine and Investment Magazine – through integrated event sponsorships, digital campaigns, roundtables, and content partnerships.

You’ll work closely with the Global Commercial Director, Head of Media and cross-functional teams to deliver against our commercial goals. Your work will span clients across the asset management, insurance, superannuation, platform, and advice sectors, playing a vital role in shaping the commercial success of Australia’s most influential financial media brands.

The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial self-starter with a passion for financial services and a desire to manage senior client relationships to achieve sales target.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline by identifying key business opportunities across the portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive revenue growth through the sale of customised, holistic and integrated event and media solutions.

Lead commercial conversations with senior decision-makers across financial services, building multi-touchpoint partnerships.

Collaborate with the Global Commercial Director and Head of Media to deliver revenue against event sponsorship and media sales targets.

Identify new business opportunities and actively build a pipeline of strategic accounts across financial services.

Work with editorial, production, and operations teams to develop tailored, high-impact sponsorship and campaign solutions.

Demonstrate sales skills and product knowledge within the institutional and wholesale financial services industry.

Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and RFP responses that align with clients’ strategic goals.

Maintain up-to-date activity in our CRM and contribute to quarterly sales forecasting and weekly reporting.

Represent Conexus Financial at key industry events (local and occasional international travel required).

Contribute to the long-term growth of the business through strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and thought leadership.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial publishing or financial services, with a proven track record in media and event sponsorship sales or business development.

Deep understanding of the Australian institutional and financial advice ecosystems, including asset owners, insurers, platforms, and asset managers.

Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets, close complex deals, and grow strategic accounts through structured account management.

A consultative sales approach, with the ability to deeply understand client objectives and craft integrated solutions that deliver real commercial value.

Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, capable of engaging C-level executives and overcoming objections with professionalism.

Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build and maintain trusted relationships.

Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-driven, with the ability to prioritise and execute in a fast-paced environment.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the tenacity to pursue new revenue opportunities and challenge the status quo.

Strong collaborator who thrives in cross-functional teams and works well with editorial, project management, and operations colleagues.

A genuine interest in financial markets, institutional investing, and improving outcomes across the superannuation and advice sectors.

Proven success in an agile, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment.

Candidates with exclusive experience in large corporate structures may not be suited to this high-autonomy, multi-disciplinary role.
